Take a
monster-sized bite into a show that is, well, literally full of them.
Season
One of “Teen Wolf” has almost the same central plot points as those of “Vampire
Diaries” and “Twilight”, but with even more teen angst, bloody grittiness, and not
to mention a lot more facial hair. Following the trend of the supernatural
craze, MTV’s latest television series is different from the usual pregnant
teenager stories, but with all the same teenage drama.
Since the
first episode, Scott McCall has had to put up with school, after-school
activities, relationships, and everything you could imagine the average
teenager struggling with. Oh, and he just happens to be a werewolf. So pile
trying to make friendly with the neighborhood werewolf Derek Hale (actor),
defending his own life while trying to protect the lives of his loved ones, and
being hunted by both werewolf hunters and the Alpha werewolf on top of that.
Yep,
just your typical average teenager.
By the
time the final episode of this season has rolled around, Scott and Stiles are
already involved in the war between the hunters and werewolves over the events
that occurred during the night of the Hale house fire.
The
Alpha, Peter Hale is actively threatening both Scott and Stiles. The safety of
Allison Argent and other members of the Beacon Hills community are also
threatened by the Alpha’s powerful presence.
But the
main cast of teenagers is not the only one dealing with supernatural phenomena.
Lydia, having been in the hospital for some time after being bitten by the
Alpha is experiencing some freaky side effects that do not include the typical
hair and fingernail growth, begging the question:
Just
what is she?
At the
same time, Allison’s aunt Kate is targeting Scott and Derek as a means of
training Allison to be a killer instead of taking refuge in a safer area like
she had been instructed to do. By doing this, Kate has put her life and
Allison’s in the face of ultimate danger.
So what
happens in the final episode of season one of “Teen Wolf”? I can’t say any more
than that.
This
episode brings a bloody, violent end to the series’ first season. If you’re
hunting for a good show to sink your teeth into, I can tell you that “Teen Wolf”
will satisfy your hunger.
